Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation: GIFTED

In November, 2022 I was blessed to be chosen as a recipient of the GIFTED program run by the Sunshine Coast Arts Council. SCAF is all about creating an "enlightened and enriched Sunshine Coast region that is transformed by philanthropic investment in arts and culture." Very, very cool. The GIFTED program is a direct patron-to-artist form of support where each year, ten artists are gifted $1000 to support them in a specific project or for professional development. I applied for mentoring with (my hero), Dr Kellie O'Dempsey. to help me develop my PhD proposal in creative arts in 2023. There's something special about being gifted money for a specific endeavour - it provides accountability and helps make a long term and private dream important enough to focus on. I feel very grateful right now.
